Sarkis Café has been an Evanston institution since 1965. It was established, by Sarkis Tashjian a larger than life personality. He used his Armenian roots and his personal flair to parlay breakfast food into a breakfast experience for the next 35 years. The restaurant was purchased by Jeff Cramin in 2000 and remains owned and operated by the Cramin family to this day.
Our menu items are as unique as the café itself. Our signature sandwiches are unlike any other and have many interesting back stories.
We have a large multi-generational customer base that draws from the North Shore and beyond. Customers migrate to other states over time, but always return when they are in town to “get their fix”.
